This is the real mira. Its ID is 1459655092889452545, and that’s the only thing worth checking, since anyone can copy a name and an avatar but nobody can copy an ID. If a bot calling itself mira isn’t listed on this page, it isn’t ours.

Permissions

The invite asks for Administrator. mira does a lot across the whole server, from managing channels and roles to bans, webhooks, and emojis, and Administrator covers all of it in one go rather than leaving you to work out which twenty individual permissions each feature needs. It also asks for application commands, which is what lets you use mira’s slash commands alongside the normal prefix ones.
Drag mira’s role to the top of your role list after inviting it. Discord blocks a bot from acting on anyone whose highest role sits above its own, so a role that’s too low means moderation commands and antinuke will fail against exactly the people you most need them to work on.

Extra instances

There are three more copies of mira you can add. They aren’t required and most servers never need them, but they exist for two jobs the main bot can’t do on its own. Music in more than one voice channel. One bot can only sit in one voice channel at a time. Add a second instance and you can run audio in two channels at once, a third for three, and so on. Bigger and faster purges. Discord limits how quickly a single bot can delete messages. The extra instances split the work between them, which gets around that limit and lets purges clear more messages in less time.
Administrator and a high role position aren’t required for the extra instances, though both help. The fewer permissions they have, the more situations they’ll have to sit out.
Worth adding them in order rather than skipping ahead, though nothing breaks if you don’t.

Running commands

Commands are typed with a prefix in front of them. The default prefix is !.
Mentioning mira works as a prefix too, and that never changes no matter what else you set.
Joined a server and don’t know its prefix? Mention mira on its own and it’ll tell you. You can also run @mira prefix to see what’s currently set.
The rest of these docs leave the prefix off commands, since yours might not be !. Where you see serverinfo, type it with whatever prefix your server uses.

Changing the prefix

prefix set is the one most servers want. It wipes whatever is there and leaves you with a single prefix.
prefix add keeps what you already have and adds to it, which is useful when your staff are used to one prefix and you want to introduce another without breaking anyone’s habits.
You can’t end up with no prefix at all. Remove the last one and the default ! comes back automatically.
Locked out because someone set a prefix nobody remembers? Mention mira. That always works, so @mira prefix reset gets you back to ! from anywhere.
